930 Tach useable in Carrera?

To all you experts out there... I'm in the early stages of turbocharging my Carrera and was wondering if the 930 tach is interchangeable in the Carrera? I like the idea of having a boost gauge in the tach as my plans are to use the clock location for an AFR gauge. Too, I'm looking for an economical approach as well as trying to maintain a "stock" look in lieu of a bunch of seperate gauges. Any input is greatly appreciated!

My understanding is that the 930 Tach will work in a CIS car, but not sure about a Motronics fuel injected 3.2L

I am using a non carrera(earlier) tach in my 85 carrera. works great. orig tach had 6 or so wires, older tach has only 3. Is there a date on the tach somewhere? i could go outside look at it.

Hmmm... not sure of the date locations, but thanks for the info. I've only heard of 930 Tach's interchangeable in other (non-turbo) CIS cars. If there are other tachs that work in the Carrera then maybe there's potential.

I have a 930 tach in my SC with Varioram power. Soon I'll find time to hook the boost gauge up to vacuum for grins when the throttle is depressed.

Any tips on how you wired the older tach to the existing 3.2L tach harness?
