				Centroid fuel senders

I recently installed a fuel cell equipped with a Centroid fuel sender, the gadget that tells the gauge how much gas is in the tank. When i got everything buttoned up, with no gas in the tank, the needle jumped instantly to nearly full and stayed there when I switched on the ignition. I emailed Centroid tech support expecting the usual all purpose "helpful hint" list, none of which ever seem to address your particular problem, and actually made human contact. Joel spent at least an hour of his time over the next few sending me diagnostic tests and asking me questions about the installation. At one point we were interrupted when I had to visit Sears for a slightly more sophisticated multimeter than the simple device I had on hand. Eventually the problem turned out to be a sticky gauge. Turns out the sender when turned on kicks the needle to full. The needle is then supposed to drop to whatever position is indicated by the gas level. Well mine does, if you give it a sharp rap with a knuckle! So, if you have a problem or a question when setting up the sender, shoot Joel an email. He could not have been more helpful.
