82 SC cold start idle

My 82 911 SC revs to 2000 rpm on the first start of the day and stays there for several minutes until slowly returning to around 900 rpm once warmed up. Is this initial rpm too high? It used to max out while cold at 1200 to 1500 rpm. Is the initial cold rpm adjustable? It runs fine once warmed up.

No, 2000 rpm is not too high. I would only be concerned if the change was sudden and nothing else, including the weather, changed.
