Help - Inspection in West Houston, TX

I need help with someone to do a quick 10 min. visual inspection for a 997 Turbo I'm looking to purchase. I had a PPI done from Porsche, but would like someone to take a quick look. It is located in west Houston near 59 and I-610. I will buy you dinner! Thanks. 615-426-2291

I think he mentioned in his post (the one you quoted) that it's a 997.

Id offer but I know nothing about a 997 or a Turbo. I can look at it like Id look at a new VW Passat... but other than that my opinion may be kind of worthless. If you dont find anyone on the 997 or Turbo forum, I am happy to take a look.

Thanks. City Direct Motor Cars. I had Porsche run several tests. I really need someone to look at it from a cosmetic perspective. I am at 615-426-2291. Thanks.

I went by Protecnik on Tuesday this week and the place was all locked up. Anybody know anything about that?

I don't like that place. They've picked up a few Porches in the past year. They're a tiny tiny little shop on Richmond, and as far as I can tell, ALL of their stock is outside in the weather all the time. Cars crammed into a small parking area.

Now, that might not really mean anything, but we have lots of podunk little crappy "exotic car dealers" here because of the lack of zoning. That place would not be on my list of places to buy 997 class car.

Id get the PPI at Protecnik, EurocarWerk or European Auto Techniks. All are top notch shops...

May also want to post on the Turbo forum.
I wouldn't recommend EurocarWerk. Eric took a lot of money off of me when I had my 964. I have a friend with an E36 M3 that Eric's guys ruined the rear suspension on.

Also consider Swiss Garage and Texas German Auto-house.

But - if you already had a PPI done at Porsche - did you have them also do an Exterior/Paint survey? They'll do that too.

And - they are just down 59 a little ways from there.

WOW. Yes. I have been trying to call Protechnik for the last two weeks. I thought maybe I was just having bad luck...

I do all my own work.. but they were great for Corner Balance and other special work. I like European Auto Techniks as well. Crawley is a Great guy, machine shop onsite.

Eric (EurocarWerk) wasnt my favorite either. he put Castrol GTX in my car when he did some work for me awhile back..

You still get a voice recording that said Protechnik.

I went with Crawley up at European Auto Techniks for my machine work because I could not get an answer at Protechnik. That was a great place... sad to hear if they shut down...

I believe Protechnik closed a few weeks ago.

I went by and looked at the 997TT. Sorry I didn't take any pictures of the overall car just close ups of things I found so I don't have a pic to post here.

It's a beautiful car, I wish there was one in my near future! Maybe I can scrounge up the money for a 996 soon

Good luck with the turbo!!!
