What is this bracket for on the front valence and horn bracket help??
 

84 Carrera - putting stuff back together but it has been a while and I cannot find the right pics or diagrams.

First up - what is the second bracket in (threaded) for on my front valence? The outter has a home and attachement point but have no idea what the other one is for?

Second question - horn orientation and mounting, cannot find any good pics of the bracket...here is the bracket I have or what I thought was the horn mounting bracket:

The PET calls for one bracket on the 84 Carrera but there is one end to mount one horn and then what about the other? Is that just the wrong bracket? The bracket for both horns in the PET looks different.

Can someone shoot a photo of the stock horn setup on a Carrera (not just the horns the brackets and where/how they mount - many thanks!

I'm not sure what you have. My `87 uses this type of bracket:

Figures - those look like nothing I have. Your first bracket looks like what is pictured for my car in the PET....my car is stock and that is the bracket I pulled off for the horns. More confused.

I am wondering if I should cut off that extra bracket on the valence - serves no purpose that I can see and is not referenced in the PET

As closely as those two holes line up, and the obvious indication that it once had a fastener on it I would hesitate a long time before cutting it off.
