been reading alot here, do the ssi's really make a noticable difference in performance on my 82sc?

On the 2.7 and 3.0 yes, not so much on the 3.2. The stainless material also is a plus over the oem heat exchangers that they copied. Faster to heat up, warmer cabin heat and rust resistant.

And a sport exhaust as well. Made a good difference on my 83.

ok, what is the best brand to get and where, saw a few on this site some were discontinued, also the best for your money, not the most expensive

Mine helped mid range accel. Noticeably more grunt out of corners on track. Overall added ~10 hp over stock w/cat bypass and Bola 1 in 1 out muf. 168 vs 180 RWHP. SSIs w/2 in 1 out muf. Not scientific but close comparison since temps were ~close, though runs were several months apart.

yes ssi's make a nice upgade to an sc choose your muffler though wisely for your tatse. Think about how you will use the car and if it will be a weekend driver etc decide how loud you really want it. if you want it quiet stick with the stock muffler for pre 74 .
