Roland's membership...

Anyone noticed whenever he posts it says "Absolute Beginner"
I'm trying to figure out if that's wayne having some fun or what. It's hilarious, but with 1700 posts + he's clearly a senior member!

A for attitude

So if you haven't noticed Roland is often a subtly humorous, witty guy.
I don't think Wayne is playing around with people user CP's.

I change mine whenever it strikes me.

I got a kick out of "Absolute Beginner" also. Have you noticed "Middle-Aged Member"?

Kurt,
I am certain it's not Wayne's doing, but Roland's constant attempts to crack us up while giving us a lesson. Here's Roland's response to the "absolute beginner" deal. It's the 4th post. http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9857&perpage=20&pagenumber=2

Cool

I was stationed in Ramstein Ger. in the early '70s. His answers remind of some of the local technicians I worked beside.

Roland is a very good teacher.

Before he gets into esoteric descriptions of solutions, he brings us though the basics. It is very effective and thorough methodology.

He can call himself anything he wants. He's always good reading.
I keep a library of his answers.

Good luck,
David Duffield

Hello

Well it is correct that i choose the absolute Beginner as underline.
This wasn´t offered by the board or someone else opressed it to me.

It is just a little reminder to my self and the others that titles are not the important thing in the messages.

Also senior sound soooo old and wise and it makes everything a bit "stiff".

Also things are complex as it remember the time when Iggy Pop and David Bowie had been in Berlin and I was a absoult beginner there at the same time. Well I never met them personaly in handshake reach but Berlin in the 80´s was very special. ( Compared to Stuttgart ). Grazy happy iland sourounded by a gray unfuny, nearly dead area. Tanz auf dem Vulkan.

There is also a movie Absolute Beginners. One from the top 5%.

Grüsse vom absoluten Anfänger

Wink

also, "member" has different meanings.

for example, "he was very proud of his large member..."

Jeez Daryl, Now that you put it that way, I'm going to have to get rid of "senior member".

Hello

No I was to old and my youth had been to remote so those things didn´t cached me.
However I knew mechanics who had real punky fashion and i always told other people that this guy is wrenchin with his hands and not with his 5 colored irokese.

No i wasn´t addictet to punk ( except the love to the stranglers ) and Iggy or David didn´t fit into that drawer as well.

There is always a difference between people who create something and understand the deeper reasons then there blind follow ups ( fans ) . OK maybe thats marketing. But Nick Cave f.e. is a follow up from that time. ( see the point )

Grüsse

OK its time now to move the topic off ?
