doors

Will the later style doors fit and accept the early window frames, I want the later door panels but the early look outside. I'm sorry, but I hated the early door pockets and theyre super pricey as well. I like the look of the later panels and pockets. I don't like the r/s panels. Keep in mind that I've had all these in the past, My choice is 77-89 style panels and pockets for some reason. I have a 71 I'm going to be restoring/updating. Outside will be early rsr/singer style while the inside will be a combination early and later pieces. I'm still open to oppinions. Here is what I'm starting with.

Yes, early frames will fit later doors or the later panels/pockets can be attached to early doors with their frames. It sounds from your post that the doors currently on the car are to be replaced by later doors. Is that because of their current condition (can't tell from the photo)?

These doors are going to work other than the before mentioned issue. So if the early door would accept the later panels and pockets, then I'm golden, I Guess.

I have a 75 and swapped out the doors to a later year. I think 78?
My reason was because the 75 doors weren't galvanized and kept rusting at the bottom.
If the later doors will fit, it is a very good idea for you.

Though I personally have not done the panel switch, I've seen many, many early cars with the later panels, pockets, and armrests due mainly to the expense of replacing the early pockets. I'm certain someone will soon post what modifications, if any, are needed for the switch. It can't be too difficult.
