Alternator connections

82 SC with internal voltage regulator. I searched this forum and the pictures show the regulator cover on bottom with the D- (brown) on the left and B+(red) on the right with 61( blue) on top. My stud for the brown wires is too large for the brown terminals, the red wire terminal fits fine. In other words the brown and red terminals are switched. Has anyone had this problem before?

If you attach the B+ to the D- you will start a huge fire that will probably burn up the car and maybe the building that it's in!

The red wire post is a fatter diameter stud than the brown wire post. That is probably why the brown wire connector would not fit - 'cause they make it that way so folks will ask good questions like you just did.
