SC - Recommended Spare Parts

Something that I do with all of my vehicles is to slowly accumulate various bits and pieces and spare parts for those 'life happens' events that always occurs. These are not emergency road spares or regular maintenance parts, but ones that stay in the garage so that I readily have them in case something happens. Essentially stuff that you don't replace every year, but will need replacing as time goes on.

It also gives me something to do whilst I can eBay and other sites.

As I am still a new owner of the SC I was wondering if there are some recommended spares to have in the garage.

Thanks

jb

Garage
Fuel pump relay and a coil as a starter for ten. Make sure the coil is a black one and not one of the unreliable silver Brasilian ones

Good news...I owned my 78 SC for 15 years, and needed nothing but oil. Sure there are things to do and upgrade etc, but not one thing ever went wrong with that car. I never even replaced a bulb in 15 years....I would always keep a spare clutch cable, relays, fuses etc, but you have one of the most reliable 911's ever built.

Cool More suggestions

A spare ignition switch for sure. I've replaced mine three times on my 82 911SC. I also keep one hidden in trunk so a failure won't strand me (fantastic peace of mind!). You can get one in two days from our sponsor but who wants to wait. Buy a new one to replenish your "stock" if necessary.

Ditto on the relays.

Also have a couple of the Mahle oil filters and copper drain plug gaskets.

Anything else is only a few days away thanks to our sponsor.
