windshield trim after shield install at the factory

interesting, the video clearly shows the aluminum W/S trim being tapped in after the W/S was installed. at about 3:50. I've never been able to do it. used the rope method. FWIW. Don.

are you sure that's showing installation on a 911? The trim doesn't look like 911 trim. The 911 trim is 2 pieces, that meet in the centerline of the car. That trim piece looks like it has a "cut line" somewhere on the center of the A pillar.

hard to tell, though. I've done 911 windshields and coupe rear windows over the year, an IMO it is impossible to first install the windshield, and then the trim. (I've tried!)

Looks like a 928 or something else. A pillar looks way too wide:confused:
Cool vid though:cool:

I think you guys are right. the break in the trim on the A pillar can't be a 911. and the rake on the w/s is much more than a 911.

Doesn't look like they're "installing" it, either. Looks like they may just be adjusting it.

It is the 928 ( because they said it's the main werkes at Zuffenhausen, so it can't be the 944), and this is NOT the inside metal trim that fits in the middle if the rubber trim of the 911....it's a metal trim ONLY as used on the 928...and like most modern cars of the time.

It is not the metal- trim-inside-the-rubber... no way.

Yep, that's a 928...I used to own one.
