Option Code List?

Where is the option code list on an 84 911? I checked under the front and rear hoods, on the driver's and passenger door jambs. I have a VIN metal sticker, but no options.

My car was built in 9/83 and I am finding some strange inconsistencies in what options I have vs. what people say was available.

Do you have the owner's manual?

If not, contact Porsche in Atlanta,
they may be able to help you out.

Good site, but it only found five out of eight for our car.

Pretty cool..... now I just need to track down my ascot brown Carrera GT Luggage set!

The top options seem correct. Do I really have reinforced doors - or is this standard for US cars?

PORSCHE OPTION CODES for Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 and Porsche 911 930 Turbo, 1984 to 1989 model years.

More details.

464 - no compressor and tire gauge (funny, i demanded one from the dealer who sold me the car 2 years ago!) :)

576 - no rear fog light

How do they "decode" the VIN anyway???

The beginning of the Part manuals for Porsche have them too. Not all are there because let’s say it was an option for a SC, it may have been standard on the 3.2. They commit it.

Had a good chat with an air cooled tech at Porsche about this. Any Porsche dealer can pull up the car via VIN. I have more codes than my sticker shows and I / We believe that to be a mass package that the dealers got in at the time, or they were added later but I’m sure the seats and the locking diff were added before the sticker...lol.
