Brake pads, notched or glued?

Just wrapped up doing my head temp. sensor and in between band aids and bleeding I noticed my brake pads are low (of course) went to our host but did not realize the pads for a 87 came in notched or glued for the sensors so I put the tire back on. Is this something that is either or? And I must remove the wheels again to check prior to ordering?

Here are your choices, based on the responses I received on the thread I initiated and the discussion I had with Glenn at Pelican Parts:

• No sensors are required if you feel comfortable that you will check your pads every once in a while. You just zip tie the wires out of the way.
• Glued or notched sensors are interchangeable as long as you keep them matched (notched sensors with notched pads, glued sensors with matching pads).
• Most performance pads do not even offer a sensor option.

You may want to call PP as not all pads are in stock, so the choice may be made for you.
Of course you can also pick a 3rd party product that will match your needs (track, DE, strictly street, etc...) and the level of performance, dust, and noise you want.

It is usually too late when you hear metal to metal, and you may be up for new rotors as well...
