Squeak, Squeak, Squeak
Friday I was hurrying home in the dark on a road with speed bumps. These are the ones about 8-10" high but about 5' wide so you can go pretty quickly over them without damage.
I guess this is the first serious bouncing I have inflicted on my 911 SC. After ever bump there was a pretty good squeak from the rear end. Is this shocks or what? I think my shocks are original with 124,000 miles so I have been thinking it was time for replacement. What else should I be looking at? Thanks, |

I'm just gonna say what others are thinking....."Quickly" over speed bumps in a street 911 is not advised. The squeaking can be a great many things, since the suspension may never have been where the impact of hitting the bumps had forced it to be. After a certain mileage and age however the items that m110 mentions should be on the change out list and the bumps merely moved the job up the list. A careful visual inspection may determine the specific problem, rather than starting to change out items. Cheers

Really these speed bumps are not that bad because they are like 5-6' wide.
Thanks for the info. Now I have a few more winter projects after I get the engine back into my Sunbeam Alpine. Should have that done next week. Then onto the Porsche. |
Some front squeaks sound like they are coming from under the seats.
