Wet Windows? Aaargh!!!
 

What is the secret to making the windows dry?

I wash my car almost once a week, and not a single water spot with the chamois. Then....

I roll down the window, and when rolled up again...bang, wet glass.

I mean it takes over 2 days for the windows to dry. Grrrrrr!

Anybody has a secret!

Window trim has a fabric that gets wet. Theres no help drying the window because the fabric is wet also. Plant some big speakers on the door and play loud :) This will move some air!

It doesnt bother me, but I guess if you wanted to get fanatical about it you could run a strip of low-stick blue paint masking tape against the glass and overlapping the window seam with the felt so the water would not roll down next to the glass. Remove after washing....

All you can do is avoid running the hose on the window areas. If I use a little water i nthese areas I don't have that problem.

I already am jamming with my audio set-up. Actually trying to upgrade to 12" subs.

As for the towel, maybe that was the main reason why I bought the cab and upgraded to the 993 style. The towel that I use to wedge the plastic portion of the top is the same towel I use to wipe the window.

Like Bob's suggestion, I do keep a towel in the car for that very reason. If it's sunny out, it also helps to leave the car in the sun to help it dry out.

I have that too, and I just hate it. I actually wash my car careful not to spray the windows because I know for TWO DAYS I'll have to put up with having spots.
The rubber isn't tight enough or what?

I'm thinking about putting maybe a wiper blade rubber strip along that somehow to ensure water doesn't constantly drain down there. I'm with you. It drives me f'ing nuts.

when washing your car, just keep the windows up. There are seals there that should keep water out.

When you're done, wait for water to completely dry before moving windows down...am I missing something?

Try a piece of blue masking tape applied just above the gasket on the window the full length of the window while washing and drying. Then, peel and chamois.

Maybe you need a new rubber seal? The "squeegy" one that makes contact with the side window.

They are cheap and really easy to replace.

Your seal may be hardened and not keeping out water as well as it should. With a good seal and a little bit of care (not squirting a ton of water directly at the window), you should not have that problem.

I always wondered about this. None of my other cars has this problem. So does this mean this is unique to Porsches? I assume the fabric is inside the door panel. Does this cause a rust problem?

Theoretically, this could be a factor to unneeded rusting process.

I do not know if you noticed, but humidity INSIDE the car is so high within 24 hours of washing the car.

I knew that new seals would not help. My current seals are still pliable.

Perhaps the drilling of a small hole and then paint it with rustoleum???? Something I've worried about as well. Good type A excercise.
