How can I tell if my sc steering wheel has the longer hub option?

Hey all,

Subject pretty much sums it up. I'm just wondering what the telltale sign is that the original owner opted to have that steering wheel far enough away from the dash that you didn't have to worry about scuffing the dash by wearing rings during driving. :)

Thanks in advance

Look at the option codes in the trunk. If you see 018 - that's the elevated hub option.

also - if you look at the wheel from the side, the "elevated" hub appears to have 3 segments. The standard one has 2 segments.

Since the placing of an option sticker on the underside of the trunk lid didn't start until almost the end of the SC production, you may not have one there.

The spacer is about 25 or 30mm thick and it's not a separate piece, it's attached to the bottom of the wheel hub. It puts the edge of the wheel a couple inches from the dash, or so.

If you post a picture of what you have, we could tell you whether or not you have this option.

Michael,

On the standard wheel, the steering wheel is about 2 and 1/4 inches distance from the turn signal lever, the extension adds about an inch to that.
