Radio help 1989 911
Does anyone know if the factory installed Blaupunkt cassete radio (1989 911) has the hookups which allow me to install a cd changer to it? and, do the modern 911 radios (993, 996 & 997) fit the cutout of the 89 dash?
I just gotta get a cd player in the car that looks stock ![]() John Last edited by denson; 11-24-2010 at 01:13 PM.. |

I have an 89 with a stock cd player, so I know there are 89 model radios which would suit your needs. I believe it depends on the model radio, which would necessitate some pics or a model name.

It is the CD-2 unit.

Does your unit have a DIN connector plug on the back? Usually it's covered with a clear plastic plug.

I believe "all" the radios comply with the DIN standard as to size. I don't know if there is a time cut-off for that (DIN standards) but my 81 accepted a Becker CR-201 with cassette player and 10 disc CD change in the trunk.
The trunk set up is not standard but the dash configuration made for one of the easiest radio change-outs I have ever done. |
