CIS Fuel Pressure Test Gauge

I have an '82 SC with CIS. I've seen many references to the test guage at JC Whitney. Is it the Mityvac that is recommended? Does it attach directly to the fuel dist and wur?...or can I connect it between the wur and the host that threads into the wur?

No, that tester is for more modern fuel-injection systems that have a Schrader test port. It looks like J.C. Whitney no longer carries the Bosch CIS injection rig. This site and others can provide it.

You could also try to borrow a gauge set from another Porsche owner in your area.

I connect my tester between the WUR and the hose that connects to the WUR. The kit will provide the hardware pieces.

I have connected it to the Fuel Distributor but it is less fussy wrench work at the WUR fitting.

$104 is not a bad price for the PP set. My JC Whitney kit came in a cardboard box and the PP unit has a nice case. There may be some quality you pay for as well.

i bought the pelican one..mine didnt even come with a case. i put it all in a old tupperware case, and tossed the "storage bag". it was stupid.

i once ended up at tuning day with a guy with another gauge set. the quality was exact. EXACT! i bet it was the same tool. he paid half what i did, off the internet.

the OP should search the internet too.

The current PP set does come in a plastic case and is very high quality. Having owned both the JC version and now the PP, the PP is far, far, better. And it reads in BAR instead of PSi which can be annoying. The other problem I keep hearing from people is the one that's sold from JC is not really from JC, it's from a huge supplier that does JS, Rock, and USA autoparts, and they are all out of them and have been for months now.
