HELP with my IROC rear end

Hi all,
Already started a thread on this but photos were sheet so...... l brought a 89 carrera coupe last owner fitted an IROC kit but the rear reflector mounting bracket is either wrong or the new reflector is wrong, looks terrible as the mounting bracket is cracked and there is sikaflex or something similar on the body above the reflector. l have seen some with a valance that sits on top of the bracket to cover the join, any ideas on what l could use as in reflector/mounting bracket combo that would suit rear bumper, and if it is available through our host, thanks for any ideas or advice. Cheers Gerry V

You need to find another reflector. I think a prior owner cobbled up a way to mount the reflector on your car, and he did a crappy job of it. Here's the reflector on my '88 for comparison. Notice the reflector goes over the mounts, and there is no stepped flange at the top. The home-brewed flange is making your reflector sit way too low.

Got your PM. The first question I have is how tight to the left light is the top of the bumper? The bumper needs to be up there and level before you can do anything else. Since you don't have a stock bumper, I and others have no idea how it's mounted.

Capt .Carrera thanks for your input l think your right l might try to get both a stock reflector and mounting bracket and l suppose there is no reason why that wouldn't work as l can't see how what bumper you have on would make a difference.
Thanks Milt, you're right there is about an inch gap from light to bumper on l/h side as soon as l get parts l need it's going to a bodyshop to get the bumper lifted, bumper resprayed and the new reflector assy sorted, you wonder why you would except such a bad job, but the last owner lost interst and was looking for a full track car which is why l got this at a good price
Cheers Gerry
