Don't forget to lube your hood reslease
Just a little story about luck.
I have been driving my 72 911 a lot lately, for the frist time in many years. It had been sitting for quite some time without any major use. Well the other day I noticed my trunk would not open, the common problem--pull the knob and nothing happens. I tried to jiggle it to no avail. Well after I drove it later that day, I noticed that the hood had "freed its self" although it was not ajar as it is when you normally pull the knob. I opened it and found that the main catch was a little stiff-- it was dry with no lube. I then lubed it up and it worked fine. Now the hood release works as it should. So the moral of the story is Don't forget to do those little maintence items on a regular basis. You might not be so lucky! Dennis H. 72 911E 91 5.slow 69 spitfire ![]() |
