Question What is the width of pre-74 exhaust flanges?

I am looking at possibly having to replace 4 broken exhaust studs on my '84. However, since I am swapping to the thinner flange heat exchangers, I may not have to, as 5/8" of the stud is still exposed. I am guessing the flange wouldn't be more than 1/2", but since my new exchangers haven't arrived yet, I don't know. If anyone has a set of these laying around, could you measure the width of the flanges on them. That way I know whether to go ahead w/ the painful task of pulling the studs before the exchangers arrive. Many thanks in advance.

Colby,

I guess you are talking about the thickness of the flanges, and they are pre-'75, as the '74 models had the same design heat exchangers as the '67 thru'73 models ... about 8 mm.

To the point, the head studs of my spare stick out 20 mm from the milled exhaust port surface.

Phew, what a relief. I have about 16mm of the stud still exposed, so even busted it has plenty left to clear the thinner flange and a nut. No pullin' studs for me! What a relief...I can enjoy my weekend now. Thanks!
