RSR engine support Q and pic
Did the RSR (964 or 993) models have this type of engine bracket?? It's aluminum.
It's listed for 350 € , kinda steep, no? Anyone have a partnumber?? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1291018744.jpg |
Rennline offers a similar one, advertised as an RSR style bracket. I have one. :)

If it is aluminium it will need to be about 3 times the thickness to have the same stiffness as a steel part, which means it is about the same weight.
Ity is also likely to have a relatively poor fatigue resistance and could well crack in a relatively short timescale. We are just making a batch of RSR Engine bars from an extra high strength steel. (http://www.ssab.com/Global/DOMEX/Datasheets/en/421_Domex%20700%20MC.pdf) We have chosen Domex S700MC as it is ductile, weldable and extremely strong but doesn't have any weight penalty on a conventional steel. It will have great resistance to cracking and permanent deformation. They will be ready in about 10 days. |
