Tires for 16 x 7/9 Fuchs

I'm in the market for tires for my 16x7 and 16x9 fuchs. After researching, this is what I came up with...

Nexen N3000 205/245 $373.00 Tire-Easy
Fuzion Zri 205/245 $426.00 Tire-Easy
Dunlop \Z1 Star Spec 205/225 $500.00 Tire Rack (specs say this 225 will fit 7-9 wheels)
Toyo Proxes T1R 205/245 $614.00 DBT

Any others that I missed?

Proxes or Fuzions... 225 is too narrow for 9" rim and I don't trust the Nexen's yet. If you don't mind having different front and rear brands you have a few more choices. Personally, for a street tire, I 'm not sure its a terribly bad thing to run different tires F/R. I do this on the BMW and the car didn't explode :P

I'll be running the Fuzions on the rear and Falkens on the front of my 911 with 8/9 x 16s... and I'm tracking the car for the most part. *shrug* YMMV!

I'd do star specs.

225's is definitely not too small for a 9. We used to run 225 R1R's on 9's all the time because it was the widest street size available for a 15. You'll have a slight stretch, but I and alot of other drivers I've spoken actually like the feel of a slightly stretched tires since there's very little side wall flex.

Kumho Ecsta XS

They come in 265/45/16 for rear 9s.

And the Star Specs specifications indicate that they are acceptable for wheel widths of 7-9 inches.

Did Star Specs, but I did new shocks, struts, tie rods at the same time, so a before/after comparison isn't going to be useful.

Like all the upgrades

Also on top of what you're asking, I'd take the XS's over the star specs personally. Both are great tires, but the XS's are cheaper and have better grip.

I've seen those...but I haven't been able to find anyone actually using those on stock 9" wheels. I'm a little worried about the taller dimension and fitment.

Also, I'm afraid the 225f and 265r on the 7's and 9's will look "bubbled" out on the sidewalls. I like the way the 205/245 sits nice and straight on those size wheels.

I agree Matt. If the car is lowered, I think the rears will look fine and I'm having 9.5x16 inch wheels made to minimize the 265 sidewall.

Right now I have 7x8x17 Cayman wheels on my 86. The rear tire is an odd 235/50 and it is tall compared to the standard 205/55 on the front. With the car at US ride height, it looks odd, when you look at it. With it lowered so the rear arch is covering some of the tire, looks just fine and more "balanced."

On the 225s on 7, that's a normal tire size for rear SC/Carrera.
