oilpump modification

I want to do the oilpump update on my crankcase. This entail drilling a hole and plugging the outlet. Can anybody provide some more insight on how and with what to plug this hole, Warren...

Somebody somewhere makes a jig you attach to your crankcase half that sets the angle and location for drilling. I haven't been able to locate a source yet. If you do please let me know!

The plug is a standard 1/4" pipe plug you can pick up at almost any hardware store. You'll also need a pipe plug tap.

I don't have my notes with me. If nobody else chimes in I can elaborate tomorrow.

Good luck!

Peter,

Might as well get all of Bruce Anderson's & factory info organized in one place ...

Garretson Enterprises was the only source I am aware of for that jig, but they went out of business about 10 years ago. Fortunately, I don't believe a jig is necessary if you use a drill press or milling machine to bore from the Pressure Relief Valve port to the pressure pump supply gallery.

The plug is in without much trouble thanks to the clear explaination from Warren and BK.

Now for the hole to the presure pump inlet, what size of drill should I use ultimately.

Thanks!

Porsche Crest

Peter,

It appears to be around 8 mm to my uncalibrated eyeball.

BTW, did you see the thread about the updated cam oil line adapters with the 2.5 mm restriction?

updated cam oil line fitting for the cam housing on pre- 3.6L 911 ?

See Oil bypass modification

I can confirm that almost 28 degrees was correct when we setup the bridgeport
on my case.
