targa top

just recently took a trip and had the targa top on the first time really on a road trip is it normal for the vinel on top to be kind of loose or not as tought after driving at highway speeds?

On mine it is. The sun does it not the wind.

I just read a few weeks back that maybe the "domestic" vinyl may not be as stout (therefore flex easier) as the German vinyl for those that have been recovered

Yep, that's it.

Domestic vinyl is quite a bit thinner than the Porsche 'German' vinyl. At highway speeds it will balloon up several inches. Make sure you use the real thing when restoring your top.

Have Dave Brown in Boulder, CO rebuild it for you. Mine fits great and is quiet.

Sounds like you need to send your top to Vintage Porsche Parts and Targa Tops for Porsche it needs to be rebuilt.

ok thanks, my top has new vinyl but probably not german, probably does need a rebuild, its quite noisy at speeds
