Question about replacement turn signal stalk
Just got a replacement turn signal from a fellow pelicanite. I only need to replace the stalk. My current stalk is completely worn down to the bone.
Can i simply replace the stalk or will I need to replace the entire component (wiring and all)? Thanks. Picture of replacement signal... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1291594357.jpg |
Replace it as a unit. Something could be damaged in disassembly on either part. Chances are the replacement is in better condition. On my car you just pull the steering wheel and the cover and its all exposed.HTH

I like to cut the old part where the harness goes through the knee pads. I string the new harness in through where I cut the old one and follow all the color wires, replacing the one I remove.

You're better off replacing the whole unit, wires and all ...
It'a also easier to connect the wires on the headlight switch on the dashboard if you remove the switch itself.Do a search before you start, there is a lot of info on the procedure ! Cheers ! Phil |
IIRC there is a yellow wire loose up there that you can be tempted to connect somewhere, don't do it. I did and it caused the headlights to run through the instrument dimmer switch. That was 7 or so years ago, so forgive the vague unsubstantiated thought.
