Post Vin #'s

Should the vin #'s on the left front windshield post and the front trunk match completely on an 87 carrera? (Gulp)

According to Bruce Anderson's book, the number above the gas tank on US cars have ZZZ for characters 4, 5, and 6.

So if the VIN on the A pillar is WP0AAO920BS129999

then the one in the trunk should say WP0ZZZ920BS129999

Hopefully this is the difference.

Tom

Tom:

You hit it right on the head. The Vin on the windshield post has WPOE whereas in the truck it has WZZZ or something similar. Rest of the numbers are identical.

Thanks,
Michael
