Charcoal Canister
WHAT WOULD BE THE DOWN SIDE TO REMOVEING THE CHARCOAL
CANISTER FROM MY 87 3.2 CARRERA? I HAVE A SLANT NOSE CONVERSION AND AM JUST COMPLETEING THE RELOCATION OF THE OIL COOLER INTO THE RIGHT REAR BRAKE DUCT AND THERE IS NO LONGER ENOUGH "REAL ESTATE" TO REMOUNT THE CANISTER IN THE ORIGINAL LOCATION. ANY SUGGESTION? THANKS KEITH |

PLEASE DON'T SCREAM!
I'm also considering taking the charcoal canister out of my '73, especially since one of the hose connectors (the large hose next to the small hose) has pulled out of the canister, and I'm not really big on the idea of brazing it back on (at least it looks brazed). Can I just connect all the hoses together, basically hooking them up as they would be connected with the canister, but with no canister? I'm thinking of getting an inline hose-to-hose connector, with the little hose fit into the side of it, basically a "T" with the little hose being the 'I' and the two big hoses being the "-". Any thoughts?

The charcoal cannister is strictly a pollution control device to prevent gas fumes from being vented to the air. If you don't have visual inspections in your state, you can safely delete this "option."
