What is this a 930 Made 100% of fiberglass ????
I found this car in someones back yard here in Los Angeles...
What the hell is this ??? The whole thing is made of %100 fiberglass I didn't see any metal at all. It has removable: Doors, Fenders, Fender, Wing, bumpers...ect Every single panel seemed like it weighed more than steel if that makes sense. I've seen a photo of a similar car once in hawaii but it was nothing like this... The owner went to say it came from a porsche shop that closed years ago and the car was hanging 10 feet above the ground on the side of the building.... He was interested in selling it, but I didn't want to touch it with a ten foot pole since I got no room. Crazy crazy crazy Maybe it could be used to watch movies in the yard ? or play videogames ha! I couldn't even begin to imagen how to put it together or what drive trail to use. I bet a 993TT engine will literally destroy the car in half on take off. Ideas ? Remarks ? who makes this Year ? Weight idea or guess ? Photos of other similar cars ? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Blackbyrd; 12-10-2010 at 03:36 AM.. |

I think there is a place in England that makes 90% scale 930s. You put a small 4-cylinder engine in it.

Its a kit car, as someone mentioned maybe a Covin - It is..
Here's one in its full disastrous glory!! COVIN FORUM :: View topic - Covin Poject For Sale Back in the early 80's safety regulations became more and more strict, so Thatcher got exemption from these for small UK car manufacturers - Morgan, TVR, Lotus etc... basically they can make what ever they like and safety rules don't apply. |

It would make a really cool bed for my son.....cut out the insides, build a frame and put in a twin bed.....like those sailboat and race car beds.
If it was in NJ and a couple hunderd bucks, I would buy it and do just that....

A car with a fiberglass body and a VW motor?...no thanks. As far as the kids in the video all they need is direction(away from songs about big rims). Also I wonder if the girl in the picture realizes she is leaning against a fake 930?

This one has RSR width flares, and an RSR front spoiler. Maybe Covin made an RSR version too?

I think it would be fun to make some crazy tube-frame race car out of it. Nothing that you could probably legally race in a "real" race, but one that would be a KICK to drive on the street, maybe autocross, whatever.
As further evidence of my blasphemy may I offer the suggestion of a turbo subaru drivetrain! YEAH BABY!!! The cool thing about something that has no value is that you have a free canvas to build whatever you want. Go crazy and have fun. angela
