My engine wont run

My engine hasn't been run in a couple years and I have to build up pressure in each cylender to get it to start. It's a 911 and I just got it. Rebuilt clutch, new oil filter and carbs. What should I do?

Drain the carb float bowls and the gas tank. Fill with new gas.

Pull the plugs and squirt oil down the cylinders to help reseal the rings to regain compression. A long piece of hose small enough to fit into the spark plug hole will help for this.

You may need to pull the plugs again to clean them off after initial starting attempts.

You also may need to disassemble and clean every passage in the carbs to remove the varnish left by the old gas.
