Help! Trying to change fuel filter adapter
 

I am trying to put a new fuel filter on (83 SC engine, 74 chassis) and CANNOT get one of the adapters that came connected to the new fuel filter off in order to put the adapter from the old fuel filter on. I was able to get one of the adapters off, but the remaining one is just a beast. As can be seen in the picture I've damn near rounded off the holding nut at the opposite end trying to get this adapter off. Any suggestions? Spray penetrating oil into the threads, let it soak a little, then use the right size BOX-end wrenches on both hexes.
If that fails, use channel-lock pliers to counter-hold the hex on the filter.

WD-40 is NOT a penetrating oil, Liquid-Wrench or Moovit is. :)

Just to be sure, it's not a reverse-thread nut is it? Like lefty-tighty, righty-loosey?

The Mahle KL-22 has 14 mm x 1.5 thread (standard). Do as what Gunter had suggested two (2) box wrenches. An impact wrench will do the job. Another trick to try is heating the fuel filter in an oven @ 250°F for 15 mins. Just make sure the boss is not home!!!!

Lets not tempt faith. Don't put a used FUEL filter in a hot oven, just a suggestion.

Or you could just ziggy over to the hardware store and get a new one. SmileWavy

The oil filter and the metric fitting are not common hardware stuff that you could easily find in your local hardware stores. Unless you live near by Secundo, CA. He still needs to get the fitting separated from the filter housing to make use of them. Just my two-cents.
