extinguisher installed, heater knobs dyed
Some pics of stuff I did last weekend. Made extinguisher bracket in about 40 minutes using the directions found on the link. Cost about $12 for the 2x2, 1/8" thick aluminum angle and new hacksaw blade from Lowe's, sprayed it with self-etching primer and then trim paint. Seat can still be moved all the way forward. Would suggest anyone installing extinguisher to (1) get a 2.5 lb. model that is well made (Ansul, Amerex and Badger are good brands - see if the nozzle part is all metal; that usually means it is high quality), (2) use a metal on metal mounting system designed for vehicle use. I have seen people here using plastic brackets that would probably fail in an impact and send extinguisher flying around.
Also dyed my heater knobs using instructions found on here (left sit in dye for 18 hours, dried, use liquid paper in the white parts). Mine were light pink before. Thanks to the Pelicans who posted instructions! THIS is what were all about, our bread and butter, DIY on the "inexpensive" side! Great job.
