This should be a no brainer, but maybe all that weatherstripping glue has had an effect...
How the heck do you get those plastic rivets for the back targa seal in??? They just do not want to go in. Increase of force leads to bent plastic rivets and swearing. This is not my day!

Not sure how you get them in, but I can tell you that if you over tighten them, they snap off. Ask me how I know. now if I can only figure out how to get the broken one out, I'd have your problem of how to get them in!

Don't really know what to tell you. You might want to make sure the holes are clear of any goop or crud. Maybe clean them out a bit with a small caliber bore brush first.
Maybe a bit of petroleum jelly on the plastic plug might help. You are talking about the plastic plugs on the rear targa bar weatherstripping, right? I don't recall having any trouble with mine. If you think THAT is a PITA, try installing those nylon/hard rubber covers over the rear Targa top studs... I just about threw my top across the garage trying to slide those suckers on! Best of luck!

Finally got them in. I ended up using the 3 best old rivets as they were slightly smaller diameter and easier to install and one of the new style (I had squished the rest anyhow).
I won't say they went in gracefully. Even greased a little, I had to drive them in with a punch and a hammer. There is probably a "right" way to do this, but whatever works...
