2.7 Turbo?
This may be a bit arcane for most, but I thought I would solicit any info from anyone who has/had any experience with this factory turbo version. Just curious about the driving experience and MX issues as it would relate to this model.
Thanks eric |
What 2.7 turbo? Porsche didn't make one. Do you mean the 3.0 turbo, produced from 1975 to 1977?

My bad!
I was reading the "Technical Specifications" little book for 1975 and was curious about the turbo 930/50 3.0L. Stupid brain is foggy from busy trip. Thanks for the catch, question is now for the 1975 3.0 turbo. Since we are on the subject will the 930/50 bolt up to a 915 without grief? Other than the grafting? eric |

Finding a 930/50 in the US might be a challenge. That's the '75-76 ROW version...
Anyway, you can mate a 930 engine with a 915. I haven't done it and I can't recall all of the specifics but I'm sure someone here can fill you in. Ever think about sticking with a 930 gearbox and lowering the final drive ratio? JR |
I figgered as much, the 930/50 is old but there has to be one some where in the corner of a shop that needs to be shipped to me. Shipping freight isn't too big a problem. Driving and working on one is my interest at this point. I think that when my 2.7 is used up, a rebuilt 3.0 930/50 slipped in to my mid year would make a nice sleeper.
