Rear Deck Panel 1973 911 Targa
Hi everyone-
I am looking for some options for a interior rear deck panel and was looking for some ideas. Has anyone used the one that our host sells (PEL-APBZ-RDBVNT)?? If so: 1. do you have any pictures? 2. how does it bolt down to the car 3. overall rating? 4. does it really have room for speakers and was any cutting necessary? If not, what other options are available and do you have any pictures?? Thanks as always!! Last edited by pcivalero; 12-14-2010 at 10:48 AM.. |

The original does not have room for speakers. It is stapled to the back bulkhead upholstery and is also held down by the two luggage strap hooks. If you want speakers you need a later style or surface mount self enclosed speakers. I have a set of ADS speakers which work quite well although they are showing their age.

rear deck
No association, but Applied Business in CA provided a very nice replacement for my 79 targa. He offered to upholster it with material I provided to him and mounted speakers for me that fit. Very fast turn around, great service and fair price. Looks WAY better than the sun roasted and warped unit that was in there! Mounts just like factory- two screws and a metal tab...

That's the later raised type that lets you fit speakers under it. Good upgrade except you can't use leather luggage hold down straps.
