4.5" X 15" FUCHS - What do the numbers mean?
I have inherited five of these wheels with my '69 Coupe - they have 2 sets of numbers on the backs - the first number is 901.361.012.01 which I assume is the part number. There is a number below this one which is: 25205.3 Is is some sort of coded date stamp? I know these were for a '67 S but can't figure out how this number might relate to 1967.
Any ideas? |
Typically the date stamps are 6/69 in a circle or such......some were ink stamped.

Here are some piks of the numbers on these wheels.......

Top number is a casting number. The next is a serial number which will give you a range of dates, with a Fuchs logo next to it.....unless there is another date stamp, then it was inked and lost....check the other petals for more markings.
The logo in the 2nd pic is upside down. It's a stylized "Fox". Fuchs is fox in German. 3rd pic shows it's a 15x4.5. Used on early 911s and 64-65, 356 Cs. |
based on my search.....I THINK they are 1967 vintage and came on an "S" 911. I have a couple of other books to look at.
