911st

Iam rebiulding the engine on my 911ST 2380cc the cams are centre lube 906 or RSR There were no nuts on the cams and none in the boxes, the engine was in pieces whene i got it .
The standard and Solex cam nuts do not fit, it looks like a finer thread on the cams.does anyone know of this problem and where to get the correct nuts.
I also need the centre lube pipes and oil sealing rings .
Thanks for your help

James, it might sound obvious but have you spoken to Josh Sadler at Autofarm ? You could also give Russell Edmonds a call (01993 778423/0776 8838283) - I think he's currently got a 906-engined 911 (911T/R ?). I seem to remember him saying that Neil Bainbridge looks after his cars.

Also, there's a guy selling some 906/910 engine parts in Switzerland - it might be worth contacting him:

911ST cams

James, The racing engine cams have a tread pitch of 1.5mm on the snout, and use a 41mm wrench on the nut. The series (street cars) engine cams, have a tread pitch 2.0mm and use a 46mm wrench. Hope this helps,
Ernie Wilberg

I have an incredibly stupid question and now seems like a good time to ask it:

What exactly is a 911ST? I have the 911S, T, E, R, RS, RSR etc. all down but not the ST.

Have any pictures?

Rob, see the thread entitled "1973 Photo - Did RSR's come like this?" There's some good stuff there for starters.
