Hidden Radio antenna

Has anyone used this. I want to delete the power antenna, but still get decent reception. Has anyone used any other type?

That link didn't work for me so I don't know what kind that is, but I just used one of the cheap ones you stick on the windshield. I ran it up inside the windshield seal, and out along the top edge. It is hardly noticable. The reception, while not great, is about as good as the fender mount I removed.

Not sure if it's exactly the same model I have, but I have one that looks very similar in my 83. It gets ok reception for FM, but I can't get any AM channels. Since I listen to XM and FM mostly anyway, it isn't a big deal for me, but, if you are looking for all your regular stations, you may want to look elsewhere.

Also, mine curiously cuts out if I open the glove box.

Years ago I bought one on those stick on antenna's from Radio Shack. I have used it for 10 years. It is not noticeable unless you look for it and reception both am/fm is acceptable. Of course with my M&K muffler I don't hear much beside the engine anyway.

I purchased a booster that mounts under the dash at Radio Shack ($19.99). It has a short antena but the whole thing is concealed, works fine.

I'm trying to figure out a way to hide an am/fm receiver with Ipod and do a radio and antenae dlete. On my boat we took a standard radio antanea cut the antanae off and wired the cable to the windshiled. I am wondering if something similar would work for the antanae by wiring the antanea cable to the chassis?

Also any idea's on a hidden radio?

I have done hidden antennas on several cars using the chrome trim pieces.
If the trim pieces are insulated away from the car body (nylon supports, very close to paint but if possible not touching) you can attach a wire to them to create an antenna.
It occurs to me that the engine grill (if metal) might serve the purpose.
Mirrors can also be insulated away from the body to be of use.
You may need to use an amplifier to get good reception and with the correct filter can suppress engine and ignition noise.
Good luck
Bob
