Part id? What is on this old SC?
Checking out my buddies Porsche and I can't figure out what this part is attached to the left side of the engine. He thinks it increases HP. In all my days spent on Pelican I haven't seen this yet.

it is very hard to see what that is, but I seriously doubt it increases bhp. a smog pump from an earlier car, maybe?

78 and 79 SC have airpump to the left chain cover then tubing with 6 air injectors going into the head exhaust.

What Is the the stabaliser bar/ damper found as a support on the Cabriolet engines?
Actually, after a second, look...I dont know what the hell that is.

Bruce is right - air pump.
Tell your mate it's not the supercharger type, it's the emission type so no HP gain.
