Fuel Injection Lines?

Hello,
I was wondering if the hard injection lines from a 3.0 would work on a 2.7? Thinking that elimination of the flexible plastic lines could be a better solution.
Ideas?
eric

I'm guessing, but I'm guessing YES.

To be honest, the flexible lines make pulling injectors/testing flow a lot easier, but it's not like a person does that all the time.

I saw a pic somewhere on here recently where a fella had stainless Flex lines from a Jetta. It looked pretty neat!

The hard lines can be bent/adjusted without problems for alignment.

The injector sleeves, outside o-rings, injectors and injector o-rings are the same for 74-83.

Only thing I am ignorant of is the fitting at the Fuel Distributor. As Gogar says I am guessing yes as to fit.

But one hard line and try it out.

Eric,

They will work provided you have the fittings (reducers) for the FD. The fittings of the flexible fuel lines to the FD are the banjo type. While the metal lines are the flare type with adaptor/s (reducers). HTH.

Possible thread hi-jack:

My old '76 Audi had braided stainless steel lines for all the CIS fuel lines in the engine compartment. Are there any equivalents for mid-70's Porsche CIS (short of having some made)?

As noted the steel lines require the fittings on the FD to work on earlier cars. If you are looking for a source for braided steel flexible lines these guys make them:
J2 Precision Hose*::*'CIS" Fuel Lines
I was quoted 240 for a complete set for my 76. I just opted to buy the correct polymide tubing and replace the lines myself. I figure the original lines lasted many years, replacement tubing should last many more.
