Have any of you guys or gals tried using 85w-140 grade lube in your 915 transmission. I am currently using Swepco 201 and I have have used Redline oil in the past but have used only the more common grades(85w - 90w). I have noticed that my trans shifts better when it is cold and reasoned that I may benefit from the thicker grade during the summer months. Any Thoughts?
Thanks, Seth '82 Euro SC |

Seth,
Yes, I've used 75W-140 Valvoline in my 915 in its' pre-Swepco days in West Texas summers and it worked quite well, getting rid of a 'graunchy' 1-2 shift that it had when I bought the car! ------------------ Warren Hall 1973 911S Targa |

Check the Swepco vs. Redline discussion.

Thanks Warren, I think I'll give it a try and then go back to the Swepco if it not as good.
