First, open up the access cover to the shift coupling behind/between the front seats. Carefully mark the position of the coupler & clamp so you can return to same position later. Once marked, loosen coupler clamp so shift rod (from coupler to shifter) is loose and can be rotated. Rotate shift rod so tapered, threaded pin that holds the ball socket adapter under the shifter points straight up. Remove tapered pin (sometimes a PITA; use PB Blaster and a fresh hex key/hex bit), slide socket adapter and bushing bracket off of shift rod.
When replacing bushing in shift rod bracket, put the new bushing in a cup of hot (not boiling) water for a couple of minutes; won't soften but will become just elastic enough to push back into bracket using just your thumbs. Reassemble, remembering to lube everything.
Reconnect coupler in tunnel using marks you've made.
