SC Simple Heater setup
 

my car has the simple heater setup, which I believe means the two levers in the center simply close or open the flaps. There is no blower in the engine compartment, only heater hose leaving the engine and going to the rear left.

Is this correct? Are there some SCs with no heater blower? I've already purchased a 3" bilge blower I will wire within the duct.

You should have had a heater blower in the engine compartment.

Joe Bob is correct. This is true for both the simple floor lever (black/ red) set up as well as the Euro style "automatic" dial console heat control system.

Someone did a "backdate" on it? Heat flow increases with fan speed / rpms. No blower.

If you have ice and snow on the ground......it's a good idea to have a blower.

The last 20 years I was on the coast....not anymore.

the blower is reportedly a potential source of engine fires if it seizes. that is why some people remove it. it basically helps move air at idle (the fan does a decent job by itself when revved up, but not at idle).

I could possibly interested in your back dated ducting if you are wanting to part with it....depending on the price of course.

I was going to install 3" bilge blower in the engine compartment, but there really isn't sufficient room.

Is there a place in the cabin that a 3" inline blower would fit?
