Shift console trim
Does anyone know who makes this shift console trim or where I may be able to get something similar? Really like the clean and simplicity look of it. Thanks!

This is a Singer car, I would be amazed if Singer just bought these off the shelf. My bet is they design and produce their parts themselves.

I am actually designing a Singer like dash for my 86 Targa, although I am not using the commercially available parts as some brands like Rennlin offer. I assume the shifter console is moulded out of fibreglass. This is my work in progress on the bottom of the dash. Shaping and moulding parts in foam/resin is not rocket science. Just a lot of work

Yes, it’s a Singer. I would like to minimize my 84’s console and this is what I’d like to replicate. Expect I’ll have to make it, but wasn’t sure if there were any out there.

no, I could but I don't want to copy Singer. I'll probably open a thread to document my progress and choices on this. Project for the rest of the winter months. I have spent uncountable hours to reflect on how to do it, I did not like the rennlin solution, because the dash polished strips end where the vents start. I want them to go end to end, much more elegant. As a backplate I use PCB board, the strips are made out of U profile messing 4x4mm hand rounded on the edges and with tip ends soldered in. Lots of work. Are now out to the chrome shop, although I opted for nickel cause it fits better with the interior color (grey-green). Test fit on the dash in the pictures, notice that the dash strip will hereby be taller than standard. Chrome bezels for the radio and the heather panel are out for nickel too. Where the leather is in Singer, I put seat vinyl from a Beetle (my first car) that I paint in the same grey-green color as my interior. Not sure , but I think I have seen the same pattern on other 911s? In the picture below you see an evaluation sample I made. You see a bright chrome finish one end , a polished messing other side. That brought me to the nickel idea, somewhat in between these two. I'll need to redo the not very square glovebox front too for better and closer fit.
Apologies to the OP for (slightly) going off topic, as said continuation of my progress in a separate thread ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by alexandervdr; 12-01-2020 at 06:09 AM.. |

you could buy a Singer and pull the items off to see if there are any printing underneath ![]() or just 3D print that bezel and wrap it the tunnel cover could be 3D printed too - maybe in sections and then wrapped |

indeed, I am a product designer myself , and the actual production is often outsourced simply because the volumes don't justify to invest in a pile of CNC, injection moulding or 3D printing machinery.
