RS flares and wheels combination question
To start - yes, I did a search. While I saw some pictures, I'm not sure I saw commentary that I was looking for.
I recently purchased some RS flares for my 84 Targa (thanks Don). Since I am going to do paint/bodywork in the spring, it's a good time to be adding flares. My question is - what should I do about wheels? Right now, I'm running the stock 15 Fuchs, which I think are 7's or 8's (I'm not sure, as I am far from home right now, and can't run out to the garage and check). I'd like to stay with fuchs - as I like the look. Do I go to 16x9's? Do I just get spacers for what I have? Opinions and pictures wanted. Thanks, Ken |
On your 84 you should have 16's. For a stock look 6 and 7 are stock.

RS flares are the same width as what you have now, why switch?
|
16x9s will fit nicely under your flares. You might want to consider going to 17 inch wheels, though. The tire selection to properly fit 9 inch wheels is getting slim.
The 17 inch versions offer much more selection. +1 to what Todd stated. |
Good question. Let me check.
Thanks, Ken |
?!?
You bought RS flares for a 84 Carrera?

Hey - c'mon - we all make mistakes.
|
Don't sweat it, brother.
Put 'em up for sale on the Pelican classifieds and use the $$$ to buy new wheels. Problem solved. |
Nah - seller hasn't shipped them yet, and he's a pelican. I'm pretty sure that all this will cost me are some electrons, and some knowledge.
Just more money to put towards he the ducktail I'm buying. Thanks guys. Ken |
