Which Jack stands for lifting front?

Hi all. I see that most stands are the kind with the 'U' shaped bracket/contact point. This seems perfect for lifting from the torsion bars, but what about supporting from the front? Do you all use this same type for front? Are there other options out there other than the rubber topped ones offered here on the site? My Websearch results seem limited.

Many thanks
SoS

I am looking for something similar and I see 2 options:
welding a flat piece of metal to the top of my jackstand and put a hockey puck on top of that or I saw a rubber adaptor that goes on top of the jackstand that makes it smoother on the car's underside, not sure where it came from though.
I was using my u-shaped jack stands on the front end of the suspension arms and it worked good (where the front tow hook attaches)

The 87-89's have flat pads under the car to support, bit you can still use the front and rear torsion tubes if needed.

the way I do my 87 is to lift up one side with jack pad insert and then put jacks with "U" under the pads on one side and let it down on them. I then got to the other side and repeat. I use caution on side two by watching the othe two jacks to make sure they are not "tippy".

+1 on the tippy caution...
depending on how high you want to lift the car, you might need to do it in more than 1 step
