Hollywood Machine Shop. opinions
Right up the street from my work in Pasadena is a shop called Hollywood Machine Shop. I spoke with the owner and he said that in the past he used to do work for Dave over at TRE. Why they dont anymore I have no idea but if it is because of unacceptable work I would like to know. I am unhappy with the work of the current shop we are using for heads, cases and the like so I am searching and this guy is right up the street so its convenient.
Anyone used them, any comments?

I'd make a phone call to TRE. Unless it was something really, really bad they prolly won't slam a vendor in public. Don't burn your bridges and all that.

Call John King Machines (woodworking and construction). His name is Brad, He's had a couple of his 914's motor worked on by them. He seems happy with them. Brad's new shop is somewhere in the eastern part of Pas. around Foothill I think. Be careful, Brad is a funky guy to talk to.

Thanks for resurrecting this thread Baldo. I had never seen this thread and would like to comment.
I never had a problem with Steve and Hollywood Machine Shop. We did business for many years. Unfortunately we had moved further away and a personal friend was working at another quality machine shop closer to us. Sadly Steve passed away this past year. But Baldo, his most competent machinist has come back, and taken over. We look forward to doing business again; distance is not an issue with it comes to quality
