Seat Belt Warning Light Clarification....how should it work?
Hello all, car is an '87 Carrera Coupe
I searched and couldn't find a true answer as to how the seat belt warning light should work. There's nothing in the Bentley regarding how it should operate, although for all I know mine may be operating as it should; When I turn on the ignition, the seat belt/emergency brake/parking brake lights illuminate and the warning buzzer sounds. After I start the engine, the buzzer stops and at the same time the seat belt lamp extinguishes (roughly 7-8 seconds) so it seems they are on a common relay which jives with the Bentley diagram. It doesn't seem to matter whether the seat belt has been put in the clasp or not. It doesn't come on when I am driving, so I have no concerns re the VR etc. Hopefully someone with better knowledge can enlighten me Thanks, Neil |
Sounds normal for a Carrera.
FWIW, I killed both the buzzer and light. I hate things that tell me what to do....:p |
"FWIW, I killed both the buzzer and light. I hate things that tell me what to do...."
LMAO......I did the same on my Garmin......couldn't bear a woman telling me which way to go........;););) Thanks for the guidance on the original question. |
