Chain housing covers

Had the covers powder coated and area where 0-ring(999-701-690-40-M17) rests got coated also. What's the best way to remove coating for a snug fit without creating a future leak?

I would burn it with a little torch or lighter and just wipe the ashes.

You can protect what you want to leave with a few tape layers.

I wouldn't use anything sharp.

Hope it helps
