Sachs Power Clutch - enough for 3.6L Conversion?

Hi -

Just a quick question about clutches for 3.6L conversions. Does the Sachs Power Clutch provide enough clamping force for the added torque? Or do I need to search for beefier options? The car will see mostly street duty, but will also do up to 6 DEs a year. I'm generally pretty easy on my equipment - I'm becoming kinda boring as I get older.

I did some searching but most of the threads I found were a few years old. I'd love to hear how some of the earlier conversion clutches have held up.

Thanks,
Tom

Sorry, couldn't get the photo to post but.....I just finished my 3.6 conversion this fall and I can tell you from my experience that the Sachs power clutch has been fine thus far. I have yet to feel it slip under hard excelleration and it's not for a lack of trying!

I used the Sachs Power clutch in my conversion about 15,000 and no need to adjust it yet so I assume it is wearing well. I don;t think it is available (from pelican anyway) anymore.

I use it.....killed one tranny same clutch since the 915 rebuild.

3.6 + g50 and stock clutch. So far so good ( = 1 year )

Thanks for the responses. Is the only difference between the Power Clutch and the "Regular" version the aluminum vs. steel pressure plate? Or is the clutch disk itself different as well?

Thanks,
Tom

Free bump for some more feedback.
I'm also working towards installing a 3.6 into a G50 Carrera and looking at resonable-cost options.

I installed one on my 81 SC but it is stock. They advertise greater clamping power but how much?

Here is the link to the power clutch from PP.

See this link about 4/5ths of the way down re "puck clutch". I am not sure the "powerkit" is the same as the power clutch. If it is then I think you are in great shape.

My suggestion is to use the stock if it is still in good condition. If it is time replace it, change it to sport clutch.

Im dropping my engine after 1 year of use for other purposes, lets see how the clutch looks like...
